Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening for Women Members
Oro Integrated Cooperative Launches Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening for Women Members In March 2024, Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC), in collaboration with the Physicians-Nurses Foundation Inc. (MOPNFI) and JR Borja General Hospital, launched a crucial initiative aimed at supporting women’s health.
The cooperative introduced a free breast and cervical cancer screening program for its female members, marking a significant step toward early detection and education about these two common cancers that affect women worldwide. The screening initiative is part of the cooperative’s broader Gender and Development Program, designed to promote the overall well-being of its members, with a focus on health and preventive care. Breast and cervical cancers are among the most prevalent cancers affecting women, and early detection is key to improving survival rates and outcomes.
Through this partnership, OIC aims to provide women with access to critical healthcare services that might otherwise be out of reach. The program not only helps in identifying potential health risks early on but also educates women on the importance of regular screenings, self-exams, and preventive measures. The screening program benefits a large number of women members of Oro Integrated Cooperative, ensuring that they are better equipped to manage their health and reduce the risks associated with these cancers.
This initiative reflects the cooperative’s continued commitment to empowering women, enhancing their health, and fostering a strong, informed community. Oro Integrated Cooperative is hopeful that this program will inspire other organizations to implement similar health programs for women, thereby contributing to a wider movement of awareness, early detection, and better health outcomes for women worldwide.
